The morning was stressful, really stressful. Riley had woken up at 4:30 in the morning just to get ready for school. She got a quick shower, fixed her long blond hair so it layed just right, pulled on her first day outfit, and went to wake the boys.
Waking the boys and getting them ready was what made the whole morning so stressful. First Riley had to actually get them up which involved physically picking the up and changing them while half asleep into their matching little shorts and tshirts. After they were awake from being yanked and pulled Riley had to scoot them into the kitchen and lift them into their highchairs and get them breakfast which was Honey Nut Cheerios this morning. While the boys were eating Riley ran around getting her keys, red backpack full of her school stuff, and her coat all the while in between making sure they didn't choke.
Finally the boys were fed and had their coats on. Quickly Riley pulled on her black rain coat and carried them out the door and ran over to Gran's, the nice lady next door, door. After dropping the boys off with Gran and recieving a warm hug and a good luck wish from Gran Riley ran back to the house grabbed her bag and her keys, locked up the house, and hopped into her huge black Dodge Ram pick up truck.
Just on time Riley arrived in the school parking lot, with a great deal of stares from guys admiring the nice, shiny pick up she was driving. Once she hopped out of the truck and locked the doors she noticed not only her truck was being gawked at, but herself as well. Great Riley thought Just what I want, attention... NOT!
After picking up her schedule and stuff from the office Riley ran to her English Lit 3 class with only minutes to spare. As usual Riley struggled through class, trying not to fall asleep in the back of the room. The teacher droned on and on and people where often sneaking looks in her direction, not escaping her bright blue eyes.
Once the class was finally over Riley walked out of the building, luckily there wasn't rain and no need for her jacket. Trying to not seem lost Riley walked around trying to find the Chem Lab with little success. Gawd I hate first days was what Riley thought as she stood rooted to the spot looking around for the stupid room.

outfitZaine stepped out of the forest, straightening herself. She pulled on her shirt and fixed her hair, making sure she looked like she came from her house. She had no car at the moment, so she had to run to school. She strode onto campus, and over to the building. Her purple bag swung around under her arm, filled with school books such as notebooks and binders. Sighing, she walked past the people hanging out around their cars, ignoring their looks. She was used to people staring at her, even when she wasn't changed. The girls glared and the boys wondered. Now it was because she was apparently 'gorgeous', even though she didn't agree. Before it was because she was always the only one brave enough to wear bright shirts, tight jeans and outrageous sunglasses. But she liked it that way. She hurried into class, followed by a couple of stragglers. She paid no attention, only when she was called on, and instead focused on not attacking her fellow pupils. She had amazing control, for only three years. But she still had to think of it constantly. Her fingers drummed on the table as she stared at the desk, doodling on her notebook with her other hand. Finally, the bell rang, and she darted out of class. She proceeded towards the Chemistry class, she moved swiftly in between the hordes of people, but ended up bumping someone. How in the world did I do that? I thought I was supposed to be graceful?! Zaine shrugged internally, and turned to apologize to the girl. Zaine involuntarily winced as the girl looked at her, and with her wince came a deep breath. Shoot shoot shoot!!! she scolded herself as her fingers balled into a fist, her nails digging in. "Sorry," she muttered, trying desperately to move, but oddly keeping her face under control. MOVE MOVE MOVE ZAINE! C'MON!! She rolled her eyes at herself, frustrated she couldn't make herself move away from the girl.

As Riley struggled to find her way to the Chem Lab she wandered if it would ahve been easier to stay in Indiana where she knew everything, even if it meant living in a tiny apartment. Of course the court woudn't agree with her decision to cram her brothers in an apartment with her, so of course moving into her granny's old house was all that was left, great.
Just as the dread of the whole I'm-the-new-kid thing hit in someone litterally hit her. Well moreso knocked into her, but none the less caused Riley to stumble backward a few steps and thankfully not and on her butt in the grass.
Looking up to find the culprit Riley saw a girl standing there that soon muttered an apology to her. Riley was about to excuse the girl but then an idea hit her. "Hey!" Riley said her bright blue eyes lighting up at her idea, "Do you know where the Chem Lab is?"

Zaine cringed as she was called back to th girl. "Uh, yeah, I'm actually going there." She was trying to be polite, Zaine really was, but it was surprisingly hard for her to do while focusing on not eating her. She let a smile flicker across her face before dropping it, focusing on control. She was only three years old, and it was awesome that she had enough control to be able to attend school. She breathed in slightly, then out, deciding she should hold her breath whenever possible today, and ditch after lunch, to go hunting. Maybe she might come back.
Zaine nodded the girl over to a medium-sized building, then started walking toward it slowly, waiting for the girl. She pushed a piece of black hair behind her ear gracefully, as only a vampire would. She automatically strode tall and confident, even though she wasn't too sure at the moment. Zaine pulled a smile on, a warm one, so she wouldn't freak the girl out.

"Really?" Riley spoke, happy that she found someone to direct her to her next class. It was a great feeling of relief when Riley picked up her feet and began to follow the girl to the Chem Lab. Being the new kid always sucked, you felt like a deer stuck in the headlights.
The girl next to her looked confident and nice, but Riley couldn't shake this odd feeling. Quicky Riley got over it, deciding that there couldn't be any harm from this girl. Besides mean people don't just go around helping strangers like this girl was doing.
"Oh I'm Riley Stewart by the way!" Riley said brightly, her blonde hair bouncing with each step and bright blue eyes glowing. "Who are you?"

Zaine pulled on her best fake smile she had. Over the last three years, she had gotten pretty good at these things, such as fake smiles and lies. You had to be when you were her, or you'd be caught. Zaine turned her head to the girl that smelled appetizing, turning with a sharp gracefulness. "Nice to meet you...Riley." In her head, her cravings had taken over half of her mind, and the sentence ended up as "Nice to meet you...Dinner." instead.
"I'm Zaine." She replied, leaving out her last name. It wasn't totally on purpose, but it would be harder to identify her without her last name in the long run, even though almost no one had her name, and it was rare for a guy to have the name Zane. Pulling the hem of her blue shirt down, an old habit, she looked back to where she was walking.
Behind her, Zaine could hear people talking, about nothing of importance. So far she hadn't found any Vampires here yet, and was oddly glad of that. She would have no one on her back about eating. Fighting her crave, Zaine continued the walk that seemed miles to her.

"Hey Zaine!" Riley said happily as she followed her to the Chem Lab. The day wasn't actually that bad. So far Riley knew two other people in the school. It was a good fealing knowing that you weren't alone in a sea of people. "Nice to meet you to!"
Before hand Riley didn't really realize what she was walking to. Of course Riley knew it was a class, but the preocupation of trying to find the place was overwhelming. Now was when she fully absorbed where she was going. She was going to Chemistry, Riley hated Chemistry. Well Riley hated school in general, but science like classes were the worst.
"Ugh," Riley groaned when the realization hit her, "I hate Science!"

Zaine held her breath, not speaking. Instead, she walked silently next to the girl, shrugging as she complained of Chemistry. Zaine didn't mind it too much, as she knew she was never going to get a job, or have to be successful in life. So she mostly slacked of during classes, but her acute hearing caught the lesson, and she still knew the material for tests.
Zaine yanked once more on the hem of her tee-shirt, a habit she must stop, or else she would stretch the fabric to death. She moved it to cover the brim of her jeans, and refused to breathe, not letting it show on her face.
(sry, dead.)

So maybe Riley was new and all, but why was this girl being so silent to her? Maybe it was how they treated people at this school. Help them then shake them off. That would be horrible if that was the case, but Riley decided to look at the bright side. Maybe Zaine was just feeling unwell.
"Um," Riley spoke through the silence, "Are you okay?" It was funny how she seemed to be asking this question so much. Not ony with her brothers but with the guy she met at the park, Alec. Was a bug going around?

((lol. yep... it's a bug, and it bites. it's name is Carlisle. lmao))
Zaine snapped back, pushing the desire back in her head, and focusing on the question that had been spoken a few moments ago. "Huh? Oh, sorry. I'm just a little..." she racked her brain for a good excuse, as she could obviously not tell the girl she was trying to suppress the urge to rip her to shreds and suck her blood. Wouldn't that make a good impression. "Out of it. Yeah, I'm just a bit out of it. Sorry." she continued, realizing she had just repeated sorry.
Listening to the buzz of the teens as they hurried to class, so they would avoid being late, Zaine realized how close they had become. She almost relaxed, but then realized if she ditched in the middle of class to leave, the girl, or Riley, would notice, and might become suspicious. Great.

"Okay..." Riley said and gave her a skeptical look. Having been around her brothers so much Riley had a good sense of when she was being lied to. The thing was she couldn't figure out what she was being lied to about. It was a little frustrating, but Riley decided to let it go and hope that Zaine was really fine.
"So are we almost there yet?" Riley asked, trying to change the subject to something nonpersonal.

"Yeah." she replied, calming herself. She had pulled this charade off for three years, one girl is nothing. She could do this. It was nothing. Zaine was an excersized performer, actress, and this world was her stage. Hold your head high girl... she reminded herself. Pointing gracefully, her vampire finger prodded the air in the direction of the class a little bit away. "Right there."
Act natural... what would I normally do... "So, Riley, have you been here long?" Zaine had been here for at least a few months, and quickly got into routine, but had never noticed this girl before...
